Recycling

West Lampeter Township has a mandatory recycling program.  All residents are required by Township Ordinance and State Law to separate recyclable materials as described below:

All recyclable material must be placed in a separate container (bins are available at the Township Office for $4.00) No recyclable materials are allowed in trash containers. A separate truck picks up recyclable material each week on the same day that your trash is collected. There is no limit to the amount of recyclables you set out for collection.

Program Highlights

The following can be placed in your curbside recycle bin and mixed together:

Glass: Any color (clear, brown, green) glass food and beverage bottles and jars should be thoroughly rinsed and lids should be removed. (throw lids in the trash) It is not necessary to remove labels. Light bulbs, window and auto glass, drinking glasses and cookware are not recyclable.
